Vacation

OK! So it has been a week since we have been home from our vacation. After getting resettled (and adjusted to the climate) here at home, D and I got sick. It is really tough to take care of a two year old when you aren't feeling well, especially when both parents don't feel well. We are doing much better now, so we are playing catch up. Enough of that, let's get on to the vacation...

D and I had a good time. It was good to take it easy, relax, and do what we wanted to when we wanted to. It gave us time to reconnect after all of D's travel for work, which will be much less for the remainder of the year. Of course, one of the best parts of vacation is the food. We did miss B, and she missed us to, but we were constantly reminded that a child that age would not have fun on vacation and would make it difficult for their parents as well. Also, being away from B makes us appreciate our time with her even more.

Here are a few pictures from our trip...

This is the Aerosmith roller coaster. It is hard to take a picture of yourselves and get a decent shot of the background.

D put together his own Mr. Potato Head. There were lots of toys that you could build and buy any variety of pieces for, but I thought this was the best.

Most of you will see more pictures and hear more stories when we see you next.

Big Birthday

Guess who's TWO?

OK! I'll admit it, I'm not the most creative when it comes to decorating cake. Thankfully at this age it doesn't matter very much. It tastes just as good no matter what it looks like. We had ice cream with the cake, so B didn't even eat the cake. She loves ice cream so much she had two helpings of that instead of cake.

B did a good job of opening her gifts, but I think Daddy had just as much fun helping her.

The new kitchen is a lot of fun, and she has a lot of dishes to go with it. She also got a broom and vacuum, so now she will be able to play house. I'm sure she will want to help Mommy with all of the cleaning as well.

B also loves basketball, so this should help keep us busy this winter.

More Football

Daddy left football on, so I had to watch it with my bear.

Cuddle Time

B likes to watch football with Daddy on Sunday afternoons. While they were cuddling and watching the game, Denka decided it looked pretty cozy and had to join in to.

Denka doesn't last long as B always wants to pet her, but isn't always gentle.

Recipes

Mommy likes to go online and find new recipes, she first writes them on a note pad before she tries them and then rewrites them on her recipe cards. I took the originals and used my letters to hang them on the door. Helping Mommy with her recipes is fun.

"Cover Ears"

As you can see from the shorts this was taken at least a week ago. I have been really slow in updating the blog.

B loves to spend time with Daddy, and likes it even more when Daddy is working in the garage. When Daddy is using his power tools we make B cover her ears. She looks pretty cute. It is even cuter to hear her say "cover ears".

Markers

B got markers from Grandma when she came to visit last week. She also got a coloring book, but decided that coloring her legs and hands was a lot more fun.
