Baby Update

In all of our traveling over the last couple of weeks, I had 2 Dr.'s appointments. I took my 1 hour glucose test June 15 and failed, miserably, which was expected. The Dr. put me on my diet for gestational diabetes about 3 months ago. Because I failed the 1 hour test I had to take the 3 hour test on June 22. Surprisingly, I passed. The Dr. and I couldn't believe it. I couldn't be happier! However, I still have to stick to my diet somewhat well to help maintain my weight, but I won't have to test my blood sugar. The Dr. will reevaluate at my next appointment.

Where Have We Been?

We have been everywhere in the last 2 weeks, everywhere except home that is. D had some training in Louisville, KY, I had Dr.'s appointments, and B & I went to see both grandparents. Then we headed up to Wtown because our house there sold, so we packed everything up (or the movers did), and now we are finally home again. We actually have furniture in our house now. It is still disorganized, but we will have things put together soon then I will post some pictures.

AT D's PARENTS

B loves her Grandpas and has to copy everything they do. Visiting with grandpa out on the deck.

Grandpa and Daddy were out chipping a few golf balls around. B loves golf, so she was very interested in what they were doing.

Grandma had some new kittens that B got to hold. This white one was the nicest so she held it several times.

We also visited Great-grandma.

AT J's PARENTS

We were at my parents' during VBS, so B went to help grandma with the snacks. She also got to sit in on some of the lessons as either Aunt D or Uncle N and Grandpa were teaching.

It was also very hot while we were at both Grandparents. At J's parents, they pulled out the pool. B, of course, wanted everyone to get in with her. Obviously no one else would fit, but Uncle N had to stand in the water.

Lots of time was spent on the swing.

Sometimes she got a ride.

There were a lot more activities, but I've already lost track of the details and not all the pictures would fit.

Good Friends

Yesterday some good friends of ours from RC stopped by on their way through. It was nice to visit with them in person, and catch up. The kids enjoyed each others' company as well. We only get to see them about once a year, and it is so much fun to see how the kids have grown.

Playing puzzles together. B had to get a puzzle for each person. The sharing is still difficult sometimes, but B will have to learn how.

We miss all the friends we have made through the years living in different cities. Being able to get together when we can is wonderful, except that we miss everyone even more.

Warm, Warm, Warm

On Sunday, J's parents came up to visit. It was a really warm day. We tried to spend some time outside playing ladder golf, but it was hard to find much for shade to stay cool enough.

We don't have any shade trees of our own or any grass in our backyard, except along the property line.

B likes the ladder golf put always ends up hitting herself with the golf balls. She definitely enjoys it when people come to see her and want to play games with her.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great, long Memorial Day Weekend with D's sister and her family in the TC. B especially loves to play with her cousin C. She doesn't have any friends her age here, so getting to play with her similar aged cousins is always fun. D helped uncle J with some projects, and the weather was perfect for being outside all weekend.

The kids help put up the playset. They couldn't wait for it to be done because they just wanted to play on it, so they thought they would "speed-up" the process.

It was finally done and the kids could enjoy the swings and the slides. They both got a lot of use over the rest of the weekend.

The sandbox was also fun. There was some fresh dirt from the playset construction that the kids eventually found. They were quite dirty at the end of the day.

After all the construction, playing outside, and the quick baths, we decided to head to a St. Paul Saints game. D trying to get the carseats arranged in the SUV with the help of the kids.

At the baseball game. We were looking into the sun, which made it hard to see, but the kids kept us busy anyway. It got late and had a been a long day, so we headed home before the end of the game. It was still 10pm or a little after when the kids finally got into bed.

J's sister and her boyfriend joined us one day. We played all kinds of outside games, T-ball, ladder golf, crochet, and more.

At bedtime the kids got a story and they both had to sit right up next to uncle J to see the pictures. It was great to watch them get so involved with the story.

Cousin C had a fun firefighter costume that B really wanted to dress-up in. Daddy helped her put out the fire.

There was lots of other fun too, but I had to edit the amount of pictures.

Talking on the Phone

B loves to talk on the phone to anyone who is willing to talk to her. Any time someone calls and she sees or hears me on the phone she just keeps saying, "I want to talk," until we let her.

Here she was talking to grandpa and grandma. They called while she was eating her ice cream, and she put that aside to talk. We were quite surprised, as she really loves ice cream. I guess talking on the phone is even better than ice cream.

Keeping Entertained

So I haven't been very good about updating the blog, as these pictures are from a week ago.

B has been waking up earlier in the morning, so it has been harder to keep her entertained all day. She gets easily bored with a lot of things (sounds like her Daddy).

This day we decided to make some play dough, B really enjoyed that and Daddy even played with her. It is nice to be able to pull it out and play with it at other times now too.

We also had a back yard full of dandelions, it was like a field, so B went out and pulled a few to help. She just thought she was getting flowers.
