Opening Doors

B knows how to open the patio door. We now have to keep it locked otherwise she lets herself out. She can also lock it, and tries to when we (the parents) go outside.

B has also figured out how to open doors with knobs. We can't keep her out of anything!

Napkins, Napkins, Napkins

B had to keep herself entertained while I was taking a shower. What did she find? Napkins! She took all of the napkins out of our holder on the table and laid them all out neatly on the couch. She is very organized and has a very precise way of doing things.

Thankfully, there were not very many napkins left!

Too Much Stuff

B loves to put toys down the stairs; sometimes it is a lot of toys. She wanted to bring them all back upstairs to do it all over again, but couldn't carry them all up at once. She found the laundry basket I had at the top of the stairs and took it down with her. Once she loaded all the toys up she pulled the full laundry basket up the stairs, all by herself.

Picking Berries

B likes the "berries" that grow on the tree at the front of our house, she does everything she can to reach them. Then she carries them around, puts them in her dump truck or the mail box or whatever else is available. We find them everywhere.

Potty Training

In addition to all of the house projects we decided to start potty training. B is ready. The first day went pretty well. Now it is 3 days later, and things are not quite as easy. She doesn't mind going on the toilet, but she still wants to go in her diaper just before I take her into the bathroom. We are definitely going to have to use pull-ups or something other than diapers. On the first day B even poo-ed in the toilet, twice. We were very proud of her. Hopefully in the days to come things will get better, we are in this for the long haul.

House Projects

I know it has been a while since I have updated the blog. B was gone this last weekend with J's parents to the TC's, which allowed D and I to get started on all of our house projects. Without pictures of B we don't have much to post.

As you know we will more than likely be moving sometime at the beginning of the year, so we are doing several projects to improve and add value to the house. A 30 year old house has its difficulties.
We had some rotted boards to replace, which included some of the siding. We had hoped to replace all of the siding, but couldn't justify putting all of that money into the house just to turn around and sell it.

The siding at least needs to be repainted. We were planning on scraping it all with a pressure washer, however, with 30 year old siding it takes a bit more experience than either D or I possess. Here is a small portion of what I scraped. We new that we would not have time to do all the scraping and were planning on hiring someone to paint. We found someone who will do it for a price we are willing to pay. . . I was willing to pay almost any price as I would be doing all the scraping for weeks to come.

B loves all the time we are spending outside. She likes to help with all the projects.

Her help includes trying to help Daddy disperse of this pile of dirt from digging out a window well. We are putting in an egress window.

More Swimming Lesson Pics

Here are a few more swimming lesson pictures. B absolutely loves the water and always wants to try to everything on her own. By the end she was good about doing what the instructors said. She even figured out how to blow bubbles in the water, which she now does in the bathtub as well.

Swimming Lessons

B is taking swimming lessons, her group is called tadpoles. We have a really fun aquatic center and B loves the swimming lessons. At this age all the kids' moms get into the pool too.

Lights On

B loves to turn the lights on and off (mostly on). She is tall enough to reach every light switch in the house if she stands on the tip of her toes.

The next day she figured out that if she used her bear to stand on the light switches were a lot easier to reach.
