Crazy Life

This last weekend was our moving weekend. We moved to the house we bought here in town. It takes a lot of work to get everything packed, cleaned, moved, unpacked, and cleaned. We had a lot of help with D's parents coming early so I could get most of the packing and all of the cleaning at the new house done (it was filthy). People from church and bible study came Friday morning and we moved everything from the house and from our storage to the new house. With all the help we had it took less than 3 hours. Praise the Lord. In moving things from storage, however, we discovered that some of the furniture was covered in mold. There were items we had planned to get rid of anyway, and this just forced us to. I was worried about all of the things in the boxes being moldy as well. That meant that the rest of Friday and all day Saturday were spent unloading boxes then washing dishes laundry, furniture, books, and anything else we felt was still in good condition. Overall, there were only a few things that didn't make it, and none of it was hard for us to part with. We've had a lot of late nights.

At our new house the girls have been sharing room. So far they seem to really love it. Every night they "talk" and laugh for at least an hour after we put them to bed. The first couple of nights they woke each other up through the night, but that seems to be getting better. Now if one wakes up, the other has been sleeping through it. The morning is a different story. One seems to wake the other up at about 6:45 am every day. I don't know which one actually wakes up first. I'm hoping that soon they will be adjusted and sleep just a little bit later. One bonus to them waking up so early and keeping each other up at night, is that they both take good naps during the day. That is not normal for Bria, but her nap time is in the basement where it is cool and dark.

I wasn't very good about taking pictures during the moving process. Here are a couple that I did get.

Bentley snuggling with Grandpa when Grandma and I got back from cleaning the other house.

After a long day of unpacking, Bentley snuggled with Grandpa before bed time.

In looking back, I wish I had taken more pictures of all the boxes, but I guess I will just have to try and put it memory.

Nine Months

That's right! Bentley is nine months old today. She is really growing. Soon she should be crawling. She can get up on her hands and almost on her knees. Right now she just scoots backwards in attempting to get up. One tooth has come through so far, and soon there will more. The teething process has brought a lot of drool. We have lots of fun getting her to shake her head "no" when we say "no", watching her roll from one side of the room to the other in a matter of seconds, clapping her hands when she is excited, and tons of other fun baby things.

The pine needles on the deck at the new house were fascinating.

This smile was in response to Bria playing with a yo-yo.

We love the round, kissable cheeks.

We took the pictures at the new house (for a change of scenery), even though we will not be moved in until Friday. We have a lot of work ahead of us with all of the packing and unpacking.

Busier Than A Bee

This last weekend was very busy (and extended over 6 days). The whole family headed to J's parents to help with the planting and getting ready for J's youngest sister's high school graduation. We spent a lot of time making mints and food. The weekend brought some rain, as is typical for Memorial Day Weekend, so the planting was cut short. It all ended up working out so that Grandpa could spend some time with his kids and granddaughters.

D had to head back home Monday evening, but the girls and I stayed so we could have a bridal shower for J's other sister on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we came back home, quickly cleaned the house and prepared for Bible Study on Thursday evening. Here we are to Friday already. Now we begin the work on getting things ready for the upcoming move (i.e. cleaning, packing, etc.).

Bria with Uncle N, Aunt T, and soon to be Uncle C.

D's graduation. She was the valedictorian and had to give a little speech. We are very proud of how she made sure to make this an opportunity to witness. That is actually a testament to how she has always lived.

The balloons from D's graduation were a big hit with both girls.

The whole family spent some time playing Bocce ball on Monday. Unfortunately, one of many thunderstorms brought our game to an end.

Bentley found some fun toys to play with. She loves the toys that Bria plays with.

We spent quite a bit of time hanging out and playing at the youth center.

Bria was so exhausted by Tuesday afternoon that even after her nap she laid down on the couch and fell asleep. People were even going through the room and Bentley was making lots of noise. This is something that has never ever happened before. We eventually had to wake her up.

Grandma holding Bentley at Aunt T's bridal shower. Bentley learned to clap just before we headed to Grandpa and Grandma's. Bentley was a bit crabby for the entire weekend because she was cutting a tooth. It finally came through today, but she is still working those gums. I'm guessing she has another coming.
