Corn Eatin'

B is a vegetable eater. She really likes her vegetables, other foods are a lot more difficult. We had an extra ear of corn last night a supper and she asked for more, so we thought we would let her trying eating it off of the cob. She had fun with that.

She doesn't even want any butter, salt, pepper, or any thing else on it. She likes it plain.

B's Camping Pictures

Here are the pictures of B camping with J's family (from earlier this month).

Swinging at the campground park. It looks like B is talking, as usual!

Time out on great-grandpa's boat. B loves to be on the water.

B's first experience fishing.

Enjoying the ride, even though it wasn't very warm.

At the camper with aunt D.

B really did enjoy her time camping and she still talks about it.

Almost There (Baby Update)

We are almost to the end of this pregnancy! I couldn't be more ready. Today we had a doctor's appointment and the baby is doing well. I am dilated to 2 cm and 50% effaced. That could still mean a couple of weeks before she is born (due date is September 6), or it could be tonight. For me, the sooner the better. Throughout last night and today I have had several contractions, which prevented me from getting much sleep, and so my stomach has been very uncomfortable today and I am very tired. On our drive home after the appointment I thought we might have to turn around and head back (it is a 2 hour drive from our house to the hospital). After getting out of the car and walking around we determined that I wasn't in labor yet. Hopefully I can get at least one good nights rest before she's born. We all know there won't be many after!

Friends

We had a great time with our friends from Wtown on Thursday. They drove to SF to meet up with B and I since we were at D's parents' while he went to Dakotafest. It is always good to catch up with friends, especially when we can do it in person. Of course, to keep all of the kids entertained we had to do kid activities. Our time was spent at Chucky Cheese, the park, and the mall.

Waiting for lunch at Chucky Cheese. B was excited to see her friends again. She was even a bit clingy, but didn't mean any harm. Not all of her friends appreciate her lack of awareness of personal space.

We tried to squeeze 3 of the kids into this car ride, but the youngest didn't care for it.

Amazingly, all the kids sat still enough at the park for us to get a few pictures of them. We wanted to get some pictures of all of us "girls" and the kids together, but ended up getting rained out.

The kids had plenty of fun just running around in all the open space at the park.

Our time at the mall involved ice cream and more time in the kids area playing. We did get a little bit of shopping done, but not much. All the time we had to visit was wonderful.

Thanks girls for coming to see us!

Week With the Cousins

Last week was a busy week. B and I went and helped D's parents watch 3 of B's cousins while their parents went on vacation. We had to be creative with our activities so we did all kinds of different things. Thankfully, some of G and G's friends from church brought meals and fun games/toys.

One day I built the kids a fort. It wasn't very big, but they all fit. As they would crawl in and out it would usually collapse.

One person who brought food also brought a very delicious ice cream desert. B enjoyed it a lot. The other kids did too, but nobody was as messy as she was.

It is a good thing grandma has a lot of balls (and other toys). Generally, whatever one kid did the others wanted to be doing the same thing. That did result in some quarreling, but that was to be expected.

The kids were all playing some game that they made up themselves.

All of the kids like music. They would fit as many on the piano bench as they could and play the piano and sing made up songs. We never did get the words as the kids were all singing different words anyway.

On a couple of the really warm days we took some time to splash in the pool. It would start out completely full and within half an hour have only half an inch of water left. They really enjoyed being outside. We tried to do as many outside activities as we could depending on the weather.

B and cousin I were a little chilly after their time in the pool and had to take some time to warm up.

By the end of the week everyone was a little exhausted. B and grandpa laid down on Sunday to get some rest.

There were lots of other activities that we didn't even get pictures of because we were so busy keeping our eye on 4 very active kids.

B's Stay at G & G's

B spent the last couple of days at J's parents, and she had a great time. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures from my mom to post yet. Some of their activities included camping at the river, boating, fishing, swimming, camp fires, roasting marshmallows, swinging, playing with grandpa's and grandma's toys, helping snap green beans, and so much more. I didn't pack a long sleeve shirt for her because the forecast was warm, humid, and no rain. The weatherman was completely wrong. B ended up wearing a sweatshirt of aunt D's, which hung down to her ankles. The pictures were very cute, and I will post some when I get them. Grandma said that B really enjoyed the camping and cooperated very well while they were there. When they went back home on Friday, B wasn't as cooperative, and was definitely ready to come home today. Having a couple of days to get things done without an almost 3 year old needing attention was very helpful. We are glad to have B home for a day before she and I head to D's parents for a week.

Where Did It Go?

I can't believe the month of July is gone, and we are already into August. July and August were supposed to be our slower months so we had plenty of time to get ready for the baby. I'm not exactly sure what made us so busy in July, but somehow the time flew by anyway.

August is going to be another busy month with doctor's appointments, B staying at grandpa & grandma's house, B & I helping grandpa & grandma watch 3 of B's cousins, more doctor's appointments, and who knows what else (maybe a new baby). We will have updates with these activities throughout the month.

Here are some fun pictures from the end of July.

B likes to put on Daddy's work shirts when he comes home in the evening. She even has to have all of the buttons done up.

B preparing to be a big sister. She loves to put her baby in her booster seat, cook her supper, and feed her. We will see how well this translates to her helping when the baby comes.
