New Clothes

This morning B received a package from Grandma in the mail. She loves getting things in the mail. Grandma sent some new clothes for her and B had to look through them all herself.

She had to try a few of the things on, like this jacket.

Then B had to go through and organize some of the clothes. She can be a girly girl sometimes.

Also, right away she said that she needed to tell Grandma "Thank You". So, thank you Grandma, from all of us.

Poking at Daddy

Sometimes B just can't resist poking and pulling at D's face. I think it is funny, but I know that it can be painful.

Nice Weather & Family

We spent a day with J's family, and the weather was nice enough for us to be outside. We all enjoyed being able to get out for a while. Thankfully it looks like this weather is going to continue.

B's version of bean bag toss--pick up the bags and place them in the hole.

A little baseball...

And a ride on the trike.
There was also digging in the dirt and frisbee throwing. Lots of outdoor fun.

It had been a while since we had seen aunt T, but B had a lot of fun with her.

Grandma got B this bucket, which looks similar to one she had when she did an Easter Egg Hunt last weekend. Needless to say, B thought we needed to hide eggs again. She and Grandma took turns hiding and finding the eggs. I think they both had a lot of fun.

Prom & Carnivals

This weekend has been quite busy for us even though we haven't done any traveling yet. When you live in a small town people ask you to do all kinds of things even if you haven't been there long. I guess there is no better way to get to know people than to dive right in.

Last night D was a chaperon for the after prom party. The party was from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., but with setup and tear down he was there from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Obviously he didn't get much sleep this morning. He definitely isn't used to keeping those kind of hours any more.

Tonight D had a booth to do outreach for work at an indoor carnival in a nearby town. This is a big event for the surrounding communities, and people come back to their home town for this event. B and I went along. B had fun playing games like bean bag toss, ring toss, bingo, plinko, and several others. It was also nice for me to get out in the community and meet some people. D knew a lot of the people we saw because almost everyone has to come through his office, but I haven't had the opportunity to meet all the people he has. I wish I had some pictures of B playing the games, but I didn't even think about taking the camera.

Tomorrow we will be traveling to J's parents for a day. Hopefully, D will be able to catch up on some much needed sleep. I feel like I could use some extra sleep as well.

Easter

We spent Easter weekend with D's parents. It was busy, but it was good to see all of the family again. We even celebrated D's grandma's 80th birthday over the weekend with all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. There were a lot of family gatherings, a lot of kids, a lot of Easter eggs, and a lot of candy.

Grandpa reading a book to B and cousin I.

Uncle J was one of the best sources of entertainment for B over the weekend. She always wanted him to do something with her. Here all of the kids were climbing and jumping on him at the same time.

Easter morning before church, Grandma read books to all the grandkids while the parents were getting ready.

After church the kids got their Easter baskets. It was like Christmas morning for them.

Warm Snow

The weather was very nice today, and all that remains of the snow from Saturday's storm is the big piles. B thought it would be fun to play in the snow. We ended up putting her snow suit on because she wanted to sit in the snow and was getting all wet. She didn't say she was too warm even though it was almost 60 degrees outside.
B stomping in the slushy snow, or big water puddle underneath the snow.

Daddy building a snowman for B. She has been wanting a snowman every time it snows, but the snow is always to dry. It has finally melted enough to be wet and sticky.

All Business

Today I came into the living room to find B sitting at the desk with a calculator, a notebook, some pens and pencils. She had also moved the mouse to bring up the computer screen. I guess she will be taking after her parents. She told me she was "working" and that I needed to be quiet. I think the picture tells the story.
